Website Domain Transfer General Terms & Conditions

  1. Backup Policy
    1. Starbright acknowledges Xneelo’s reliable backup system, which retains data for two weeks. However, clients are strongly advised to maintain their own backups to ensure data safety.
  2. Client Responsibilities
    1. Clients must ensure the domain to be transferred is unlocked and inform the current registrar about the transfer in advance.
    2. A fully completed Transfer Request Document is required. Incomplete forms or missing information may result in delays.
    3. If backups are not provided, clients must supply all necessary website backups before the transfer is scheduled.
    4. Sections of the Transfer Request Document that are not applicable should be marked as “N/A” or left blank.
  3. Transfer Duration and Downtime
    1. The domain transfer process generally takes between 24 to 48 hours but may extend up to 7 days depending on the current registrar’s policies.
    2. Temporary downtime during the transfer process is possible and beyond Starbright’s control.
    3. Starbright cannot be held responsible for failed transfers due to the expiration of transfer tickets.
    4. If the email address associated with the domain registrar account is changed at the time of transfer, the transfer process will be delayed by a minimum of 5 days. This delay is due to standard security policies enforced by most hosting and domain registration providers to prevent unauthorized transfers. Starbright is not responsible for any additional delays resulting from such changes or any third-party registrar policies.
  4. Monthly Maintenance Services
    1. Websites utilising Starbright’s monthly maintenance services will first undergo an evaluation for site cleanup and optimisation, which may include an additional quote.
  5. Security Measures
    1. Starbright ensures the integrity and security of domain and data during the transfer process by employing robust encryption protocols to prevent unauthorised access.
  6. Communication Protocol
    1. A dedicated point of contact will be assigned to clients during the transfer process.
    2. Regular updates will be provided via the client’s preferred communication method.
  7. Contingency Plan
    1. In case of transfer failures or unforeseen issues, Starbright will promptly implement a contingency plan and notify the client of the steps being taken to resolve the problem.
  8. Post-Transfer Verification
    1. Upon completion of the transfer, Starbright will verify the functionality of the website.
    2. Clients will be asked to confirm the success of the transfer through a final review.

 

Email Domain Transfer General Terms & Conditions

  1. Backup Responsibility
    1. Clients are responsible for backing up their email data before initiating the transfer. While Starbright offers support, ensuring secure backups remains the client’s responsibility.
    2. For email hosting with Xneelo, backups are retained for 14 days, and emails remain on the server for 60 days. Clients must still maintain their own backups.
  2. Email Credentials and Setup
    1. Starbright will provide email credentials but is not responsible for configuring email accounts on the client’s devices.
    2. If the client uses specific email clients like Outlook, Starbright can assist with updating essential records (e.g., SPF).
  3. Email Hosting with Other Providers
    1. For emails hosted outside of Xneelo, propagation may take up to 24 hours, during which downtime may occur.
  4. DNS Record Configuration
    1. Starbright will handle DNS record configurations for services like Google Apps and Microsoft Office 365.
    2. Clients must supply the required credentials and access for accurate updates.
  5. Transfer Documentation
    1. Clients must complete the Domain Transfer Document in full before the transfer process begins. Non-applicable sections can be marked as “N/A” or left blank.
  6. Security Measures
    1. Robust encryption protocols are employed to secure email data during the transfer process.
  7. Communication Protocol
    1. A dedicated point of contact will be assigned to ensure smooth communication throughout the transfer process.
    2. Regular updates will be provided using the client’s preferred communication method.
  8. Contingency Plan
    1. In case of transfer failures or issues, Starbright will implement a contingency plan and notify the client of all actions being taken to resolve the issue promptly.
  9. Post-Transfer Verification
    1. After transfer completion, Starbright will perform a thorough verification to ensure proper email functionality.
    2. Clients will review and confirm the success of the transfer.
